This is probably the most amazing sounding guitar I've ever built. I'm tempted to keep it, but my beautiful bride says I have enough, thank you. As you can see from the next few photos, this guitar has a 12th fret body joint. That's where it gets its astounding sound. It also has wider than normal string spacing with finger style play in mind. $2500
It's in an advanced state of being dismantled. The soundboard is the flat piece of wood behind the metal structure. That's the soundboard I used for Piano Guitar. This is also a decent image of the sides: Aged mahogany from 1936!
This photo shows off the soundboard pretty well. Looking at the photo to the left, I think it's clear that it's the same wood. I stained the mahogany back and sides the same color as the Claremont. Also you can see the poplar I pulled out of the piano and used for the binding. Staying true to the piano's roots felt important on this design.
This is a little better shot of the headstock logo. Not so much glare.
Not great lighting, but here you can see the piano keyboard-themed backstrip. It runs all the way up the neck and through the back of the headstock.
Again, in keeping with the piano theme, I inlaid Mother of Pearl pieces to resemble piano keys.
I didn't have enough mahogany from the Claremont to make two guitars, so Piano Too got that stunning Hawaiian Koa. It is a much smaller guitar with a smaller neck diameter. It has a lovely, woody tone and projects quite competently. Piano Too makes an excellent small-get-togethers instrument. $2300
This body style is more akin to a Martin OM. The guitar is light and comfortable to play. I opted for the open headstock on this one: Something a little different to help it stand out. Where Piano Guitar got a stark white pickguard, I thought the aged white looked better on this face. Piano Too is also a 12th fret body joint. The

The open and full sound that comes from the lower bridge position just tickles me.
Here's a great shot of that beautiful mahogany rescued from the Claremont's sides. There's no stain on that neck--just gorgeous antique mahogany. I also used a piano-themed backstrip on this one. The figure in that Koa makes my heart happy. And I used the poplar from the piano just as I did in Piano Guitar.
